Machining Capabilities
With extensive capabilities, blanks are produced in high volumes consistently and quickly.
Coarse sawing and waterjet cutting convert raw material into machinable sizes. Core drilling, edge grinding, and centerless grinding shape discs and rods. Precision beveling uses robotic machines for final sizes. Precision slicing handles large quantities with CNC machines. Wire sawing ensures minimal kerf and defects. Surface grinding and spherical generating create flat and curved surfaces. CNC machining performs accurate drilling and milling.
Optical Materials
With over 100,000 lbs of inventory, most parts are fabricated rapidly and consistently. Traceable optical data is provided, and advanced test equipment ensures specifications beyond standard, including bubble quality and homogeneity. Stock includes optical glasses, filter glasses, fused quartz and silica, low expansion materials, ceramics, and float glasses. Annealing and reslumping services meet precise tolerances.
Testing Capabilities
Glass Fab Inc. is dedicated to providing defect-free products and services. Operating under MIL-I-45208A guidelines, they strive to meet AS 9100 standards. Recognized by major aerospace companies, their quality system incorporates stringent requirements. Their test equipment certifies specifications, including index measurements, refractive index homogeneity, stress birefringence, bubble inclusions, transmission (190-1100nm), and dimensions using CMM machines.
